For last year’s words belong to last year’s language. And next year’s words await another voice. And to make an end is to make a beginning. – T.S. Eliot
Good morning everyone, and welcome back to another year of the blog. Its 2019, dudes!
For those of you who are new to my blog, welcome! This is Through my eyes; a blog where I talk about a whole range of topics as well as take you on a journey through my life. My about me page has had a recent upgrade, so feel free to head on over there any time for more information.
For those of you who read my last post in 2018, I talked about how I’m starting a new blog series called “Tea Chats”, where I give you guys a general update on all the happenings and what’s to come this month. The idea is that I’ll reveal a theme for each month that will tie all my posts together.
I got the idea when I was trying to think of a way to plan out a whole year’s worth of blog posts at once. The name “Tea Chats” seemed perfect because firstly I’m a huge tea addict and because our household is not big on coffee drinking, whenever we invite people for a catch-up, we say: “come over for a cuppa and a chat”. It’s our version of “let’s grab a coffee”. I want these posts to be less formal, like I’m having a short catch-up with you guys while I have a cuppa tea (feel free to go grab a cuppa yourself anytime, I’ll wait)…
As you can see by the title, the theme this month is: New beginnings. This seems fitting, don’t you think? It’s the beginning of the year; time to start getting organised and setting new goals for 2019. Time to start new projects, get into the deep cleaning, and the environment rearranging. Time to clear the slate ready to start fresh.
Call me the eternal optimist but every single year feels as though it will be better than the last. However, this year I’m even more so convinced because I’m starting University and entering a whole new phase of my life. I’m turning 20 in two months (ahhhhh!). But I also feel like I’m very clear on what I want out of life and I’m ready to work my butt off to achieve all my dreams.
In terms of events this month, so far, I’m looking forward to Carly Findlay’s book launch for “Say Hello” on the 24th. I’ll keep you posted if anything else comes up.
I’ve always been a big believer in making resolutions though I believe you don’t need to wait for January first to start. At least it’s an excuse to try and improve yourself because all of us could do with a little self-improving.
So that’s it for now, here’s to 2019, new beginnings. Let’s make this year the best one yet!
