about Claudia

Claudia Forsberg is a Melbourne based writer and journalist. She is currently studying for a bachelor’s degree in communication (Journalism) at RMIT University. Claudia lives with a rare genetic condition that affects the muscles in her body, however, she is not intellectually disabled. Her interests lie in areas such as Australian politics, education, media diversity and social/cultural affairs.

Claudia enjoys writing on a daily basis, both fiction and non-fiction. She is also an avid reader of everything from romance, to journalistic non-fiction. Other hobbies include dancing, swimming and crafts.

Career-wise, Claudia hopes to be employed as a full-time journalist once she has completed her studies. She also hopes to be the author of many books later down the track. Claudia will most likely go on to complete further tertiary studies in the future and wants to continue learning more in the areas of passion listed above.

One of the most important projects Claudia continues to work on is this website. Her main goal right now is to grow her readership and establish a platform that people recognise and want to keep coming back to for its attention to detail and focus on important issues and stories.

about this website

Claudia began blogging in 2017 while in recovery from major surgery. The original blog Ballerina at Heart was an informal place where she uploaded her writing for friends and family and used it as a way to distract herself while stuck at home.

When she saw the impact, her writing was having on people, she decided to take blogging more seriously and by the following year, Claudia had rebranded and moved her site to WordPress where she would continue to build on it, part time.

Through my eyes, before this latest version, was built by Claudia herself, enlisting the help of her younger brother Harry Forsberg, to design the logo. It has taken a long time for her to get this website to where it is today, but Claudia is very proud of it and can’t wait to share it with you!

“The goal of this website is to share my story in the hope that others can relate in some way. But I also want to share my perspective on the world around me and the different stories that I come across because they have just as much value and importance, if not more, as my own. The true gift we have as writers and journalists is that we can give a voice to those who otherwise don’t have one”.

Claudia hopes that her writing will attract a diverse audience of people who feel safe and comfortable interacting with each other and sharing ideas.
