Cheers to the holidays!

It’s been a long time since I’ve updated this blog – apart from that recent poem I wrote which really came to me out of the blue. I have many reasons why I dropped off this year, but I don’t want to bore you with the details. Instead I’m going to give you a quick update on my life right now.

  1. I finished my first year of university

Yes, that’s right! First year done and dusted. Only two more to go till I’m officially a qualified journalist. I seriously had the best time this year. other than the small bumps I encountered along the way (most of which at the beginning of year), university was everything I had hoped it would be and more. the best thing about this year was all the terrific people that I met this year, and how many good friends I’ve made. I think that was my main concern and now I can safely say it is a concern no more.

  1. I’m back to reading

Now that I’m on holidays and there’s only two months left in the year (wow, not even!), it’s a mad scramble to achieve my reading goal of 100 books. To be honest, I knew it was ambitious and really, I’ve already done way better than I did last year (which was nearly none) so while I hope I get to 100, I know I made a good effort. This reading year has also made me realise that I want to start uploading more reading related posts to this blog too, so stay tuned for that.

  1. I went to my first wedding recently

Well, my first wedding that wasn’t a relative’s and therefore attended with my family. I got to see two of my friends from ChIPS get married which was all the more heart-warming because I have known them both separately and together. Unfortunately, I did make it a little late and I might have gotten a little smashed but overall it was a blast! I’m so so happy for these two.

  1. I’d like to say that I’m back for good, but no promises

While I am on holidays, I don’t want to put too much pressure on myself. I honestly don’t have a lot planned just yet. All I know is that I really miss writing and I need to reconnect with my purpose (yes, that sounds cheesy. No, I don’t care). Hopefully I get inspired by some of the fun things I get up to over the break (even though so far my only plans are; reading).

I hope this is an okay update, I tried to keep it short and sweet. I miss writing and i will be trying to get something more interesting for you guys to soon. In the meantime…

Cheers to the holidays! Bring on summer!
